Last night, Hollywood’s elite flocked to the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles for the 72nd annual Golden Globes awards.
Though the actual awards ceremony was the “reason” for the gathering, we all know the red carpet fashion is the real reason for tuning into the event. And, as per usual, it did not disappoint.
Some celebs shined in their glamorous gowns (literally) while others’ looks fell flat (we’re looking at you, Keira Knightley). Few, sadly, rocked particularly stand-out looks.
Of the ensembles that did stand out, however, Catherine Zeta-Jones’ is perhaps the most memorable — but not for reasons you’d think.
While the dress was pretty enough (and the 45-year-old actress herself remains as gorgeous as ever), several savvy fashionistas noted that Zeta-Jones, with her wavy brown hair and crimson frock, looked oddly like a real-life version of the salsa dancing emoji.
Twitter user Zoe Klar cleverly Photoshopped Zeta-Jones’ posture to mirror that of the emoji’s, which further emphasized the striking resemblance between the Welsh actress and the text-message icon.

It’s unlikely that Zeta-Jones copied the emoji’s signature look on purpose, but it’s too funny not to point out.
Plus, of all the ho-hum looks of the night, at least one will stand out in our collective memories — if for no other reason than its sheer hilarity.
